Highlighting and Contouring is one of those make up applications that can be as complicated or as simple as you want. I personally do not have the time to spend an hour or more on my make up in the morning, so I always go for a simple, quick powder highlight and contour.
Why bother to highlight and contour? well....... if you want to give your face some dimension, make your cheek bones pop and slim your face you will love it !! ( I am slightly addicted )
There's no need to use too many products to give your face that beautiful contour and glow, a simple bronzer, blush and a shimmery highlight powder or cream is all you need, these products can also double as eyeshadows but that's another blog.
Once you have applied your foundation and finishing powder, simply grab a contour brush or a regular powder brush and pinch the brush to flatten it. Using your bronzing powder dust from under your cheekbones in a line to you lips, lightly dusting the powder as you go so as not to create a harsh line, it needs to be subtle. Then run a line of bronzer along the jawline brushing downwards as you go to blend down the neck. I also add a touch of bronzer along the hairline. Using a blush apply in circular motions on the apples of your cheeks dusting up as you go. Lastly the highlighting powder or cream is applied on the top edge of your cheekbone, a thin dusting down the bridge of your nose, on the brow bones and a light dusting over the cupids bow (just above your top lip).
I know it sounds a little confusing but once you get the hang of it, it is such a quick way to add a little glow to your face. I can honestly do my entire face of make up in 10 minutes !
